Born in Cork, Ireland, and raised in Europe until she was ten years of age, Brighid was exposed to small communities that were focused on local farmers and ranchers long before Americans became locavores. By the time she moved to California to go to school, this early influence had become part of her work ethic.


Her resume includes work at The Raymond in Pasadena where as Assistant General Manager she learned the art of classic cocktails. Later, as Assistant General Manager at AKASHA, her technique transformed to one where she could create from the Farmers’ Markets produce and changing seasons, matching her drinks to dishes from Akasha Richmond’s hyper-local menu.


When Brighid arrived at Bar Toscana in August 2017 as the Bar Toscana Manager and Mixologist, she found a perfect home for her cocktail style. Being married to an Italian and spending much time eating and drinking their way through the country, Brighid finds Bar Toscana reminiscent of the small restaurant/bars they frequented, where everyone knows each other and congregates daily to see friends.


California’s market ingredients inspire her work – what is available here is so similar to what’s found in Italy due to the similar climate – and enable her to design new combinations of drinks to introduce to Bar Toscana’s friends and fans. Brighid’s work has been featured in Los Angeles magazine, Zagat and Time Out LA.
